Dechový orchestr mladých při ZUŠ Chotěboř

The Youth Brass Band of the Music School in Chotěboř is nowadays formed by more than 60 young musicians under the baton of Mgr Milan Moc (the director of the school) and Mgr Alois Štěrba (the orchestra leader). The band has been for a long time the integral part of the cultural life not only in its region but it also represents successfully its school and the town abroad. The orchestra has gained several festival awards and is still successful in regional and national rounds of the brass orchestras´ competitions which are annouced by the Ministery of Education. It cooperates with the majorettes of Chotěboř, Česká Lípa and Třebíč. Its repertoire is composed of the traditional compositions of the brass music, but it moreover brings in film music, ragtimes, swing compositions and the music of many different popular genres. The orchestra regularly goes back to the arragements of the works of the classical music authors.
